AMAZING - Such a good value

This shade is absolutely beautiful and a great value. I have purchased and installed many shades over the years, and this one really impressed me. I installed it at my beach house over the kitchen sink where I have three large windows with strong afternoon sunlight. Since the windows are tall and hard to reach, I chose the motorized option.

I ordered it with a liner but not blackout because I wanted to reduce the sunlight while still keeping my kitchen bright. For bedrooms, I would recommend choosing the blackout liner. Instead of installing three separate inside-mount shades, I decided to use one large outside-mount shade for all three windows. It was more affordable with only one motor and one remote, and it creates a beautiful seamless look.

The shade is 100 inches wide and came with five brackets for installation. My husband and I installed it ourselves, and programming was simple. I love that you can set custom upper and lower limits so the shade stops exactly where you want it. I also mounted the remote nearby for easy access.

I chose Blindify because they offer sample books, which helped me find the perfect woven fabric to match my home style. The quality is excellent, and I absolutely love how it looks in my kitchen.

One thing to note: the shade uses multiple cords on the back to lift and lower the fabric. One cord needed a small adjustment after installation, which I was able to fix since I’m comfortable with DIY projects. If you’re not familiar with motorized shades, customer support would likely be helpful. Overall, this is a beautiful, high-quality shade that I would definitely recommend.

Amazing Smart Shades with Great Quality

These shades are fantastic! I’ve been searching for affordable smart shades for my home for years, and Blindify finally delivered. The woven bamboo fabric looks beautiful and feels high quality, while the Zigbee motor works perfectly with my Home Assistant setup right out of the box.

Compared with the vinyl roller shades I previously purchased, these are a huge improvement. Installation was much easier with just two brackets and screws, and the shades are much lighter since the motor lifts the fabric with a string system instead of rolling the entire shade material around a tube.

One tip: make sure to measure the height carefully. These shades look best when fully closed, as adjusting them slightly below full closure can cause some fabric puckering. The included remote also makes it easy to set custom upper and lower positions. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the quality, smart features, and value.

Up and running in 10 minutes!

I’ve struggled with complicated blinds before, but these bamboo shades were a total game-changer. Installation was incredibly straightforward—took me less than 10 minutes from unboxing to hanging. Everything you need is in the box, and the instructions actually make sense. The Driftland fabric is the star of the show; it looks so authentic and high-quality. Highly recommend!

Completely transformed the vibe of my room

I never realized how much a window treatment could change the entire mood of a space until I installed these. The bamboo texture adds a warm, organic feel that you just don't get with mass-produced blinds. It feels like a handcrafted piece of decor. My favorite part is the way it diffuses the afternoon sun—it creates the softest, most inviting glow in my living room. Plus, the hardware feels solid and built to last.

"A Significant Aesthetic Upgrade

I finally decided to replace my old, flimsy blinds with these bamboo woven shades, and the difference is night and day. The natural texture is simply stunning, bringing an organic warmth and a sophisticated, custom-tailored feel to the entire room. It’s rare to find a product that combines this level of quality with such a high-end look.

Quality you can feel every day

These bamboo roman shades are impressively well-engineered. The lift mechanism is super smooth and, unlike cheaper options, it actually stays exactly where you put it without slipping. It feels sturdy and reliable for daily use. If you’re looking for something that looks great but also functions perfectly, this is it.

Worth Choosing Woven Wood

I considered roller shades, but the woven wood look is on another level. It feels more organic and adds a much softer, elevated vibe to the room.

Best Blinds for Sliding Glass Doors: 7 Options for Privacy and Easy Access

en oct 15 2026
BLINDIFY · PATIO DOOR GUIDE Best Blinds for Sliding Glass Doors: 7 Options for Privacy and Easy Access The right patio-door treatment should control light and privacy without getting in the way every time someone walks outside. Sliding glass doors bring in generous daylight and connect a room to a patio, balcony, or garden. They also create a window-treatment problem: the opening is wide, the door needs to move freely, and the treatment must survive frequent hands-on use. A covering that works beautifully on a standard window can feel awkward when it blocks the handle or piles up in the walking path. The best blinds for sliding glass doors balance four things: clear access, practical privacy, comfortable light, and a stack that stays out of the way. Below, we compare seven solutions and explain where each one makes the most sense, so you can choose by room function instead of by appearance alone. Start with accessDecide which side the panel must clear before choosing a stack direction. Define privacyDaytime privacy and nighttime privacy may require different layers. Plan the spanWide doors need sturdy hardware and accurate measurements. The 7 Best Blinds for Sliding Glass Doors 1. Vertical blinds for everyday access Vertical blinds remain a practical choice because their vanes travel side to side, matching the movement of a sliding door. You can tilt the vanes to redirect light, rotate them toward privacy, then draw the full treatment away from the opening when it is time to walk through. They work especially well in busy family rooms and south-facing spaces where you want adjustable light throughout the day. Choose a stack direction that clears the active door panel, and confirm that the open stack will not interfere with nearby furniture or trim. 2. Solar shades for glare and outdoor views Solar shades use screen-like fabric to reduce glare and soften strong sun while preserving some of the view. They are useful when a television, desk, or dining table sits near the glass and you want comfort without losing the connection to the outdoors. Solar fabric is not automatically private after dark. If the room faces neighbors or a walkway, pair it with curtains or a room-darkening layer. A motorized solar shade can also be convenient when the door is wide or the controls would otherwise be hard to reach. 3. Roller shades for a clean, simple look Roller shades provide a smooth, uncluttered surface across a wide glass opening. Light-filtering fabric can diffuse daylight, while room-darkening fabric gives stronger privacy when the door leads to a bedroom or a balcony. The trade-off is access: a roller shade must raise high enough to clear the door, and a large width can create a noticeable roll at the top. Measure the available headroom and consider an outside mount if you need to reduce side gaps. 4. Panel track shades for broad openings Panel track shades use broad fabric panels that glide along a track and stack neatly to one side. Their wide panels suit contemporary rooms and can cover a larger span with fewer visual breaks than traditional vertical vanes. They are a strong option when style matters as much as access, but check the stack-back area carefully. The panels need somewhere to travel, and the chosen stack side should not cover a fixed sidelight or collide with a handle. 5. Cellular shades for comfort and insulation Cellular shades use honeycomb-shaped pockets to create an insulating layer at the glass. Their design can help make a room feel more comfortable when a large patio door becomes hot in summer or chilly in winter. For a frequently used door, look for a side-to-side or specialty configuration designed for wide openings rather than assuming a standard bottom-up shade will be convenient. The right operating style matters as much as the fabric. 6. Sheer curtains for softness and layering Sheer curtains add movement and a softer decorative layer while filtering harsh daylight. They are easy to draw across the opening and can be combined with heavier drapery for nighttime privacy and stronger light control. Use a sturdy track or rod, and allow enough space beside the door for the panels to stack fully. Curtains are especially useful when you want the patio door to feel like part of a relaxed living space rather than a purely functional opening. 7. Motorized shades for wide or hard-to-reach doors Motorization is less a single shade style than an operating upgrade. It can make a wide treatment easier to adjust, coordinate several openings, and reduce the need to reach across furniture or use a long wand. Match the motorized system to the shade type and confirm power, control, and installation requirements before ordering. Blindify’s motorized light-filtering shades and motorized solar sunscreen shades are useful starting points when glare, privacy, and easy operation are priorities. How to Choose the Right Patio-Door Treatment Map the movement: identify the active sliding panel, handle position, nearby furniture, and the side where the treatment can stack. Separate day and night needs: a solar or sheer layer may be ideal during the day, but curtains or a room-darkening layer may be needed after sunset. Check the sun path: west-facing doors often need stronger afternoon glare control than north-facing openings. Choose an operating style: side-to-side systems usually suit busy doors; motorization helps when the span is wide or hard to reach. Order samples: fabric color, openness, and privacy can look different against your own floor, furniture, and daylight. Measuring and Installation Details That Matter Sliding doors are unforgiving of guesswork. Record the full width and height, note whether the door opens inside or outside the frame, and measure the clear space above and beside the opening. An outside mount can improve coverage and reduce edge light, but it needs enough wall space for brackets and stack-back. Before finalizing, confirm that the treatment will not hit the handle, rub against the door, or reduce the usable passage. If the opening includes fixed sidelights, decide whether they should match the active panel or remain separately operable. Final Takeaway The best blinds for sliding glass doors are the ones that respect how your household uses the opening. Vertical blinds and panel tracks make side-to-side access simple, solar shades reduce glare while preserving views, and roller or cellular shades offer a cleaner or more comfort-focused look. Sheer curtains add softness, while motorization makes wide treatments easier to control. Start with traffic flow, then decide how much privacy and light control you need during the day and at night. Order samples, confirm stack space, and measure carefully before choosing a style. For made-to-measure options, explore Blindify’s window treatment collection and request a free swatch book.
