Is not a completely blackout but it works to keep the room darker

It doesnt do a extreme blackout effect but it does help in making the room a little darker. Metal I had to use a metal cutter but it cuts relative easy. Installing was easy. It uses command strips like but I used nano tape and it was good too. Reason was because I made a mistake and had to removed it. After that obviously it didnt stick anymore. It also removed paint but is expected. It looks great and works fairly well. Im buying a second one.

Works, but there is no way "sturdy kitchen scissors" will cut it, literally or figuratively

I'm a super light sleeper, so I like to keep my bedroom pitch-black, and the light gap around my blackout curtains drives me crazy. I got these to address that issue.

First things first, these light blocking strips do their job well! They are an effective, simple solution. However, I cannot imagine what "sturdy kitchen scissors" (as suggested in the item description) could cut through these... they'd have to be made of adamantium, sharpened to a razor edge, and wielded by the world's strongest man! You will absolutely need a strong hacksaw or else a dremel-style tool to cut this to size. It is difficult enough to cut that it leaves a rough edge, so I'd also recommend sandpaper.

If you have the right tools to cut this to size, it's a perfect solution. Just don't go into this thinking regular scissors will do the trick.

Simple privacy fix if you're using blinds

These stick-on light blocking strips are easy to use and get the job done. They arrived in a long box, and each strip gives you plenty of length to cut down to the size you need. Just a heads-upyoull want to use a saw or proper cutting tool. Scissors might work eventually, but its a hassle, so save yourself the trouble and use the right tool.

Once installed, they do a great job of blocking that sliver of light where the blinds fall short, and they also add a layer of privacyespecially helpful if your window faces a public walkway.

That said, at the current listed price of $39, they feel a bit expensive for plastic pieces. I would have preferred to pay less, especially since you can spend a little more and just get blinds or curtains that fill the gap entirely. Still, these are specifically made for blinds and for the purpose I got them, theyre working well.

Expensive but Worthwhile

I didnt know these were a thing but it makes such a difference. The blinds that we got were just slightly too small and these cover the gap perfectly. They are just a little expensive but worth it.

Perfect!!

Size was more than expected. Easy to cut with a small hacksaw. Fit perfectly on the sides of my blinds.
